  • A Framework of Guidance for Building Good Digital Collections
"Identifies principles of good practice and current standards in four areas: collections, digital objects, metadata, and digital projects. The Framework was developed with Institute support and is maintained by the National Information Standards Organization."
  • Status of Technology and Digitization In the Nation's Museums and Libraries (2005 Report)
"The 2004 survey was conducted among five groups: museums, public libraries, academic libraries, archives, and state library administrative agencies. This survey report tells us statistically about the kinds of technology in use, the extent of digitization activities, and the adoption, maintenance, funding of, and staffing for technology and digitization activities at museums and libraries."
  • Status of Technology and Digitization In the Nation's Museums and Libraries (2002 Report)
The report "presents key cumulative findings of the survey that measured technology use and digitization activities by museums and libraries. It then presents a series of tables and graphs that compare survey responses by museums and libraries based on a variety of categorizations. The most significant of these categorizations is the one on which most sections of this report are based: museum, public library, academic library, and State Library Administrative Agency (SLAA). Further categorizations are by such measures as budget size, size of populations served, and current extent of technology use and digitization."
